Paul Friday (Penzance Wheelers) continues his domination in round 5, but outclassed in round 6 by Gary Chambers (www.cyclelogic.co.uk) who has numerous open wins under his belt this season.

Despite a mechanical problem, Paul Friday held on to claim maximum points in round 4. This edges him 1 point in front of fellow title contender Chris Lobb for riders who have completed 3 of the four events so far. Meanwhile, Alessandro (Sandy) Gourli shoots to the top of the leader board with 5 rounds to go.

Even after riding the last 5 miles on a punctured wheel, Paul Friday (Penzance Wheelers) scored maximum points with a devastating display of early season form. Also worthy of a mention is young Chris Lobb (cyclelogic.co.uk) who took the second spot and is going to be a force to be reckoned with this season. Next round: D&C Police 30 April 5th.

About the Cornish Cup

The ‘Cornish Cup’ is a season long points competition based on 9 open events, with your best 5 placings to count.

Only members of Cornwall based cycle clubs are eligible for the championship.
There is no need to register or enter, just ride the counting events and your points will be allocated and added up as the season progresses.

The Cornish Cup Challenge is awarded to riders who score points in all 9 rounds.

Points
100 points for the winner of each counting event, 99 points for second place, 98 for third and so on…

Awards (presented at the first event of the new season)
The series winner will be presented with the ‘Cornish Cup’ to be held for one year.

Also awards for:

• Top five overall
• First team of three
• First in age catagories (40-49, 50-59, 60+)
• First lady
• First juv/jun
• (NEW) Cornish Cup Challenge

Note: Awards only eligible to riders who complete at least 5 events.
